Renovation of clarification tank at Stegholt waste water treatment plant

In the autumn, Aquagain renovated the clarification tank at the Stegholt waste water treatment plant which is part of Arwos in the municipality of Aabenraa.

The mechanical equipment in the tank has been refurbished with a DN 600 inlet pipe and a 11.5 m acidproof walkway. The existing sludge scraper was mounted on the new walkway.

In the long term, the plan is to cover the clarification tank at Stegholt waste water treatment plant, a fact considered by Aquagain in the choice of materials and finishing of components.

A covered tank will generate a more aggressive environment which will require the use of especially resistant materials.

For this reason, the entire walkway and plates for the central bearing construction have been made from acidproof AISI 316 steel. The slip ring set has been supplied with IP 65 plastic casing. The walkway grating is made from fiberglass and the central bearing construction, gear motor, trailer bearing and spokes are delivered in epoxy-coated steel.

The choice of materials and finishing guarantees the waste water treatment plant a durable solution, also after the installation of the cover.
